Guelph woman charged for allegedly driving very drunk with a dog in the car

Triple the legal limit for alcohol, with a dog in the car: Guelph Police have made an arrest in a drunk driving investigation.

Police got a call about a vehicle being driven erratically in the southeast corner of the city, around Victoria Road South and Maltby Road, in the middle of the afternoon, Tuesday.

Officers found the suspect driver at her home, still in the vehicle with a dog.

Police say she had a strong odour of alcohol on her breath and was arrested.

She was given breath tests at a police station, showing she allegedly had nearly three times the legal amount of alcohol in her system.

The 47-year-old has been charged with impaired driving, her license was suspended for 90 days, and her vehicle impounded for seven days.
