Clothing Closet seek donations ahead of winter

By Justine Fraser

A clothing drive in Guelph is looking for donations of warm clothes and winter coats from the community. The Clothing Closet has been operating the Winter Clothing Campaign for three-years. Starting on Tuesday, Oct. 15 the community can drop off clean winter clothing for children, men or women.

The Clothing Closet provides free clothes in a thrift store style environment for anyone in need like newcomers to the country or people experiencing homelessness.

They have new drop-off locations this year as part of some partnerships in the city. Those drop-off locations include:

  • The Guelph Library main branch on 100 Norfolk St.
  • K Cleaners on 150 Kortright Rd. W.
  • Original Home Furniture Store on 259 B Woodlawn Rd. W.
  • Sealy Karate on 10 Speedvale Ave E.

Anyone in need can head over to visit them inside New Life Church at 400 Victoria Rd. N which is open Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to noon or 5 to 7 p.m.

The campaign runs until the end of October.
