Maple Leafs hockey set to stream on the big screen in The Gaslight District

It’s going to be all things hockey in The Gaslight District of Cambridge Wednesday.

The Toronto Maple Leafs season opener against the Montreal Canadiens will be live on the big screen in District Square.

You can set up as early at 6 p.m. Wednesday evening.

It’s all free, with personal food, drink and even your own BBQs all fair game.

The event details online read, “It’s ‘Bring Your Own’…food, drinks, grills, decorations, and game day vibes! There will be no vehicles allowed in our District Square. If you are bringing your own grill, we ask that you please lay cardboard underneath to protect our pavement from oil spills. But everything else goes!”

The Gaslight District is boasting quite the big screen; in fact it’s described as the “largest one of its kind in Canada!”

It all wraps up at 10:30 p.m.

Numerous tailgate parties will be held in the square throughout the season including for Toronto Raptors fans.

The Raptors home opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers will be live on Wednesday, October 23.
