Guelph teen charged for biting a police officer

A Guelph teen has been charged after drunkenly biting a police officer on Tuesday.

According to Guelph Police, officers were called to the area of Metcalfe Street and Emma Street at about 8 p.m. for reports of a disturbance.

When officers arrived, they arrested a 15-year-old girl for public intoxication, and she was taken to the police station.

As she sat in the cell, the teen allegedly began to bang her head against the wall. When an officer entered the cell to try and keep her from hurting herself, she bit the officer’s hand.

She was charged with assaulting police on top of public intoxication and will appear in court on Nov. 6.
