No one was hurt after a crash involving a vehicle and an ION train.
The collision was reported late Thursday afternoon and led to an ION service disruption through part of Kitchener.
“ION trains are not running between Kitchener Market Station and Mill Station due to a collision,” read a social media post from Grand River Transit (GRT).
The transit agency said ION service was also reduced to one track in each direction between Block Line and Mill because of the temporary disruption and replacement shuttle buses were dispatched to the affected area to assist riders. ION train service fully resumed shortly after 7 p.m.
While no further details on the collision were immediately available, a spokesperson for GRT confirmed a vehicle and ION train collided and no injuries were reported.
