Police looking for 6 people connected to multiple thefts across the region

Waterloo Regional Police are asking the public to help identify a number of people they believe are connected to thefts in the region.

On Aug. 21 officers responded to a purse theft in Cambridge. The female victim found the suspects had used credit cards at many store locations. Through the investigation, police learned the suspects were also involved in similar incidents in Kitchener, Waterloo, St. Jacobs and Elmira.

Officials believe there are six people in this group that may be linked to a series of distraction thefts, which is where the victim’s attention is diverted elsewhere and the suspects steal belongings.
