We’ll be welcoming September in just a couple of days, which is Hunger Action Month.
The Food Bank of Waterloo Region is hoping you’ll do your part to combat growing food insecurity.
“Remember, it’s not about how much you do, but that you do something,” said Food Bank of Waterloo Region CEO, Kim Wilhelm, in a release. “Whether it’s volunteering your time, donating food or money, or simply spreading the word, every effort contributes to making a difference.”
If you are able to contribute a non-perishable food item, those most in-need are canned beans, canned meat, and tomato sauce.
In Waterloo Region, 1 out of every 10 households is food insecure. More than 58,000 kids and adults in the community rely on food assistance programs.
