Kitchener Panthers season ends with loss to Welland Jackfish in playoffs

The Kitchener Panthers season ended on Tuesday night with a loss to the Welland Jackfish at Jack Couch Park.

Kitchener lost their best-of-five Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) playoff series in four games.

The final score last night was 11-5 for the visiting team. Welland took an early lead on the Panthers, going up 6-1 by the time the third inning ended, then a rain delay briefly halted play.

Welland had 11 runs by the fifth.

The Kitchener Panthers narrowly made the playoffs this season, with a 14-28 record, the second-worst in the IBL.

The jackfish move on to face the Guelph royals in the IBL’s final four.
