Charges anticipated after collision sends woman, three children to hospital

Regional police continue to investigate a single-vehicle collision in Kitchener that sent four to hospital, including three children under the age of ten.

It was around 6 p.m. when emergency crews responded to that crash involving a KIA SUV and a hydro pole in the Ottawa Street South and Homer Watson Boulevard area.

Police say the driver of the KIA, a 33-year-old Kitchener woman, was transported to local hospital alongside three passengers, ages nine, six and two. All are said to have sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

That collision closed northbound lanes of traffic on Ottawa Street South for several hours. The roadway has since been reopened.

Police have indicated that charges are anticipated, anyone with information that could assist in the investigation is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
