Nothing suspicious about skeletal remains found at Kitchener construction site: WRPS

By Erin Anderson

The Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) says there’s nothing suspicious about skeletal remains that were found at a downtown Kitchener construction site this week.

The grim discovery happened Aug. 21 at a construction site in the Church Street and Benton Street area.

The human remains turned up during excavation work and crews contacted police.

The coroner and a forensic specialist also arrived to the scene and it was determined there was nothing suspicious or criminal involved.

Police said, “The Ministry of Public Health and Business Service Delivery and Procurement has taken over the handling of this matter.”
