Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest is putting a call out for floats

Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest (KWO) is accepting entries from local businesses and residents for the annual parade.

Entries are being accepted until Aug. 31, and can include large inflatables and self-propelled floats. KWO said that pickup trucks or cars can be used under the float or as a towing unit, but not as an individual float. Lowboy units and flat deck trucks are discouraged.

Anyone looking to apply can contact Carol Tucker, the Volunteer and Administration Manager (carolt@oktoberfest.ca) at KWO at for the Parade Float Application package. More information on how to get involved can be found here.

The parade will take place on Monday Oct. 14, starting at 9:30 a.m., an hour later than previous years.

The route will start at the corner of Weber Street East and Frederick Street, making its way up Weber Street and finishing at Bridgeport Road at the corner of Bridgeport around noon.
