Special weather statement ends for Waterloo Region

The special weather statement that promised heavy rainfall for Waterloo Region and the surrounding area has ended.

Environment Canada issued the statement on Friday morning, warning of slow-moving thunderstorms that could bring heavy rainfall.

The weather agency ended the statement around 5:30 p.m.
