Pair of Kitchener Rangers selected to play for Canada at invitational tournament

A pair of Kitchener Rangers will look to impress after being selected to play for Canada in the upcoming Hlinka Gretzky Cup.

The annual invitational tournament gives under-18 players a chance to impress scouts and fans heading into a year of draft-eligibility.

Rangers 17-year-old defenseman Cameron Reid was selected to play for Canada in the tournament. Reid will be 18 and eligible for the draft next year.

The same goes for Kitchener forward Luca Romano, who tallied 22 points for the Rangers in his rookie season.

Both will look to add to Canadas dominance at the tournament. They’ve won 24 gold medals at the tournament since its inception in 1991.

Reid and Romano will look to lace up the skates when the tournament starts on Aug. 5 with a game against Switzerland.
