Special weather statement lifted for Waterloo Region

A special weather statement has been lifted for Waterloo Region.

Environment Canada first issued the statement around 12 p.m. Tuesday warning of the potential for heavy rain and thunderstorms.

The thunderstorms were described as being “slow-moving” that could bring torrential rain.

Rainfall totals of 30 to 60 mm were possible and there was concern for localized flooding in low-lying areas.
