Kitchener archer moves on to next round after two wins at Paris Olympics

A Kitchener archer took aim Tuesday in his quest to shoot for a gold medal at the Paris Olympics.
27-year old Eric Peters was shooting in the elimination rounds in men’s individual archery on Day 4 of the games, facing off Tuesday against Ilfat Abdullin from Kazakhstan and Dhiraj Bommadevara from India.
Peters told 570 NewsRadio before he went to France that he would “feel some nerves, feel a little worried and have some expectations of things that I want to do. But, I’m just going to go in there and do my best with that and try and keep it all under control. It’s fine if I’m feeling a little nervous… it just means I care.”
His mom, and fiancée Lilly, are with him at the games for support, and his family in Ottawa is cheering him on from there.
Peters was victorious after the first two rounds of elimination on Tuesday defeating Ilfat Abdullin from Kazakhstan 6-4 and posting a comeback victory over Dhiraj Bommadevara from India to win 6-5. Peters moves on to the next step of the competition, happening August 4th.
