Police searching for suspect in Uptown Waterloo stabbing, teen sent to hospital

Waterloo Regional Police are investigating after a stabbing on Friday night sent two people to hospital, including a teenage girl.

According to police, it happened at 10:30 p.m. in the area of Waterloo Public Square ION Station. Police were called to the area for reports of an altercation.

Police confirm a 28-year-old man was stabbed during that incident, and was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 13-year-old female was also taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are searching for the suspect described as a white male, aged 16 to 17 years old, with short blonde hair, a black shirt, and black pants.

Regional police say the stabbing appears to be targeted, as they said there are no public safety concerns.
