Extra travel time may be needed to local airport this weekend

A full road closure is expected this weekend at the Fountain Street and Maple Grove Road intersection in Cambridge.
The closure will start 1:30 a.m. Saturday July 27 and end 10 p.m. Sunday July 28.
The region is undertaking work for a new roundabout. The full project will involve widening the road, adding streetlights, a watermain and multi-use trails. It is anticipated to be finished by next summer.
Due to the closure, the Region of Waterloo International Airport is encouraging people to allow additional travel time this weekend.
Passengers can expected increased travel times needed to get to the airport, the region said.
“Travellers should plan their journey using an alternative route and allow extra time to reach their destinations,” it said in a release.
People can use alternative routes from Fairway Road North or Kossuth Road via Hespeler Road.
