Suspected impaired driver call leads to seizure of drugs, gun in Cambridge

A 45-year-old Cambridge man is facing a list of charges following a suspected impaired driver call.

It was around 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday when officers responded to a call in Cambridge, bringing them to a parking lot on Hespeler Road near Pinebush Road.

Officers were notified of a man sleeping behind the wheel in the drivers seat, with his door open.

Police arrived on scene and arrested that man, locating and seizing suspected methamphetamine and a firearm as part of their investigation.

That Cambridge man has since been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired by drug
  • Possession of suspected methamphetamine
  • Unsafe storage of a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm

Police say that man will appear in court on August 7.
