Driver possibly tried to get a 7-year-old girl into his car: Police

Police in Guelph are asking for help from the public after a disturbing incident between a driver and a little girl.

Officials say it happened around 7:30, Wednesday night, near Simmonds Drive and Inverness Drive, not far from Victoria Road North and Woodlawn Road East.

According to reports, a 7-year-old girl was playing at Wilson Farm Park and decided to walk to her nearby home.

Police allege a male driver came up alongside her as she walked, and leaned over to open the passenger door.

The girl ran home to safety.

The driver is described as white, between 50 and 60 years old, bald and clean-shaven.

He was driving a black, midsized car.
