Waterloo man arrested and charged in connection to armed sexual assault

A 35-year-old Waterloo man has been arrested and charged by regional police in connection to an armed sexual assault.

Waterloo Regional Police searched a residence in the Philip Street and University Avenue area on Friday after reports of a sexual assault with a firearm from June 18.

Officers found an airsoft pistol in the home and arrested the Waterloo man.

He was charged with sexual assault and weapon-related charges and held for a bail hearing.
