Wellesley celebrates grand opening of new rec complex

The grand opening of the recreation complex was two years in the making, with ground breaking back on May 2, 2022.

Saturday afternoon the Township of Wellesley will open the doors of their new rec centre with a celebratory event.

The event will bring all levels of government together with Mayor Joe Nowak, MPP Mike Harris Jr. and MP Tim Louis will all be in attendance.

The grand opening is expected to have something for everyone including, live music, food, a scavenger hunt and tours of the new facility.

The event begins at 2 p.m. with the ribbon cutting just after 3 p.m.

Mayor Nowak said this state-of-the-art facility is more than just a venue, it is a symbol of the local community’s growth, ambition, and unity.
