Province funds Cambridge Memorial Hospital to improve aging infrastructure

Provincial funding this year is going to help upgrade an aging elevator and roof at Cambridge Memorial Hospital.

Ontario is funding $1.13 million to CMH’s way in 2024 as part of provincial funding announced through the Through Your Health program.

Through Your Health: A Plan For Connected and Convenient Care, is a $228M infrastructure investment into 129 hospitals and 58 community health-care facilities across the province.

“We are deeply grateful for the $1.13M in funding to replace an aging elevator bank and to repair a roof that are part of the hospital’s older infrastructure,” said Patrick Gaskin, president and chief executive officer at Cambridge Memorial Hospital.

“This generous support ensures that we can continue providing safe and reliable services to our community. Keeping our facilities modern and functional is crucial for delivering the best care possible. We thank the Ministry and Government for helping us serve our patients and community better every day.”

The cash is specifically put aside for infrastructure improvements including upgrading or replacing roofs, windows, security and fire alarm systems and emergency generators.
