There will be a unique opportunity on Saturday at Schneider Haus National Historic Site to view art exploring complex themes of intimate partner violence.
‘Matrilineal Hauntings’, a new installation by Toronto-based artist and art historian Kathy Kranias, will officially debut in Kitchener.
According to Kranias, the installation draws on her family history through her matrilineal line and explores intimate partner violence and how it translates through generations.
A podcast and prevention series created by the Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region will also be featured on the second floor of Schneider Haus.
Karen Redman, Chair of the Region of Waterloo, will be on hand for the exhibition.
Admission to enter the historic site and view the exhibition is free.
It starts at noon, with opening remarks kicking off at 12:15 p.m.
