Police, Humane Society rescue kitten from locked car at Fairview Park Mall

Waterloo Regional Police forced their way into a vehicle parked in the Fairview Park Mall parking lot to save an abandoned kitten with help from the KWSP Humane Society.

Officers responded to calls about the abandoned cat around noon on Thursday.

They found the kitten alone in the parked car and could not locate the owner of the vehicle.

Police then forced their way into the vehicle and rescued the kitten.

The owner of the vehicle was located and issued an offence notice by the KWSP Humane Society.

Police are reminding pet owners not to leave animals in vehicles unattended, especially when it’s hot outside.
