Police investigating break-in at Kitchener apartment

Police are investigating after an apartment in Kitchener was broken into while the people who live there were out.

According to Waterloo Regional Police, officers responded to reports of a break-in in progress at around 1:40 p.m. on June 7.

Unknown suspects damaged the door and entered a residence at an apartment building in the area of Field Gate Street and Highland Crescent.

Once inside, the suspects stole personal items.

Police are looking to identify and speak to the person pictured above.

To prevent break-ins, police are encouraging people to keep doors and windows locked, even when they’re at home, to keep valuables out of plain sight, and to install home video surveillance at the front and back of residences.
