Citizen helps regional police find and arrest sexual assault suspect in Kitchener

Police officers looking for a sexual assault suspect in Kitchener got some help from a citizen to make the arrest.

Waterloo Regional Police say a female victim was sexually assaulted, around 4:45 p.m. on Monday, near Lackner Boulevard and Victoria Street North.

The victim ran away and called police.

Officers came out, and thanks to assistance from a member of the public, found and arrested the suspect.

A 24-year-old man has been charged with sexual assault offences.

Police say the victim was not hurt, at least not physically.
