Billboard campaign launched for wanted suspect in Kitchener murder

The Bolo program is taking another step in trying to find and locate Canada’s sixth most wanted fugitive.

A new billboard and social media campaign was launched Monday with the photo of Habiton Solomon attached to it.

The 21-year-old is from Hamilton and is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Joshua Tarnue in downtown Kitchener in August 2023.

He is also wanted by Hamilton Police Service for a shooting that took place in downtown Hamilton in July 2023.

Solomon is facing charges including discharging a firearm with intent and possession of a loaded prohibited firearm.

The Bolo program has worked with Waterloo Crime Stoppers offering a $50,000 reward for any information on his whereabouts. The reward will remain active until Dec. 3, 2024 as part of the program.

Solomon was named on the top 25 most wanted list on April 23 in a media conference held by La Fondation Stéphan Crétier alongside Toronto Police and Toronto Crime Stoppers.

If you see him, you’re asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers. It is believed that he is armed and dangerous and you are asked not to approach if you do see him.

He has connections to Ottawa, North Bay, Huntsville, Brantford and Windsor. Investigators believe that he is evading arrest in Ontario.
