Highway 401 WB fully reopened after six-vehicle collision injures two

OPP continue to investigate after responding to a multi-vehicle crash on the westbound 401 through Cambridge between Hespeler Road and the Highway 8 west exit.

Emergency crews responded to the area just before 9 a.m., Wednesday morning. Motorists experienced heavy delays through the morning rush hour.

Mississauga detachment of the OPP confirmed to CityNews 570 that the collision involved six vehicles, including a tractor-trailer.

They initially said that one person was hurt in the crash. They have since given an update where they are now saying two people were hurt in the crash with non-life threatening injuries.

In an email to CityNews 570, Ornge confirmed that a female in her 40s was transported to Hamilton General Hospital in stable condition.

All lanes are now fully reopened.

The investigation remains ongoing.
