Waterloo man arrested after assaulting two people in downtown Kitchener

A Waterloo man was arrested on Friday after a physical altercation in downtown Kitchener led to another man taking a dangerous fall.
According to Waterloo Regional Police, it happened at around 3:40 p.m. A 20-year-old man and a 55-year-old man began a physical altercation when the older man fell onto the Light Rail Transit (LRT) tracks.
Someone watching stepped in to intervene, however, they were also assaulted by the 20-year-old man and had their personal property damaged.
The 55-year-old Waterloo man was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The 20-year-old Waterloo man was charged with two counts of assault and mischief under $5000.
