Alleged midnight assault near Waterloo park leaves victim with injuries

An alleged assault near a park in north Waterloo left one victim with injuries, and police searching for a suspect.

Waterloo Regional Police say it happened around Northlake Drive near Pinebrook Park, just before midnight on Wednesday night.

That’s near Weber Street North and Benjamin Road.

They say the victim was approached by a stranger and assaulted.

That victim was left with non-life-threatening injuries, and the alleged attacker took off.

He’s described as white, about 5′ 10″, with a medium build.

There’s no description from police about what he was wearing at the time.

Police are still investigating.
