False alarm in Breslau as emergency siren sounds accidentally

By CityNews Kitchener Staff

It was a false alarm in Breslau on Monday as the emergency siren was sounded, accidentally.

Both the Township of Woolwich and the Woolwich Fire Department posted a notice about the incident on social media.

They said the siren was activated by mistake and apologized for any inconvenience that was caused.

The siren is usually initiated in real emergencies like for gas leaks, chemical releases, or big transportation accidents.

If the emergency is authentic, an emergency alert would also be sent out through the Region of Waterloo’s AlertWR system.
