Region of Waterloo International Airport testing new Air Canada motorcoach service

Air Canada is testing a new motorcoach pilot program to connect their customers from the Region of Waterloo International Airport to Toronto Pearson International Airport.

The service is in collaboration with The Landline Company and will run out of both Waterloo and the John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport. If successful, the program could be used across the country.

“We are excited to launch this new service in collaboration with The Landline Company, offering our customers a convenient, stress-free multimodal option that will make connections easy and travel more seamless,” Ranbir Singh, Director Regional Airlines and Markets at Air Canada, said in a press release. “We are committed to improving regional services and this innovative partnership is a testament to that.”

It works with Air Canada passengers checking in at Waterloo and receiving all boarding passes for their trip. When they arrive at Pearson, they are taken directly to the departure level. Each motorcoach can take 36 passengers at a time and runs six non-stop trips every day from 5 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.

“At YKF we are investing and expanding in so many ways. We are thrilled to welcome Air Canada’s motorcoach service, further connecting Waterloo Region to a network of 140-plus destinations,” said Karen Redman, Chair of the Region of Waterloo in a press release. “We look forward to continuing to work together to build on an airport that offers options for every traveller.”

In case of coach or flight delays, Landline says they will rebook customers like those who travel on air-only itineraries.
