Paramedics’ medication pouch containing narcotics goes missing on call

Out of “an abundance of caution,” Region of Waterloo Paramedics Services is warning the public of a medication pouch lost on Tuesday.

While in the Alpine neighbourhood in Kitchener on a routine call, a medication pouch containing narcotics went missing by the end of the shift. According to the press release from paramedics, the pouch contained 8 milligrams of hydromorphone and 20 milligrams of morphine.

“When used without medical supervision, these drugs are extremely dangerous,” the press release reads.

Paramedics are working with Waterloo Regional Police Services to find the missing narcotics.
