Guelph police investigating assault of female

Police are investigating an assault of a female who was then taken to the hospital.
It happened on April 25 between 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the area of Speedvale Avenue West and Kathleen Street.
“The victim was not forthcoming with information, but it is believed she was attacked after becoming involved in a verbal altercation with a male known to her,” a press release reads.
Police believe this is an isolated incident and there is no concern for public safety.
