Service restored after technical issues halt ION trains through Kitchener

A heads up for morning commuters — ION LRT service has been restored following Friday morning’s disruption.

It was just before 8 a.m. when Grand River Transit reported that service issue, halting trains between Kitchener Market Station and Fairway Station.

While the cause of the issue was not specified, a regional spokesperson has since confirmed to CityNews that a technical issue was to blame.

The technical issue has since been resolved, and regular ION service has resumed.
