Rangers down 3-0 in playoff series against Knights

It’s do-or-die now for your Kitchener Rangers.

A 6-4 loss against London Tuesday night has the East Avenue Blue trailing in their best-of-seven playoff series 3-0.

The Rangers were down 4-1 at one point in the game, and managed to tie it up, but couldn’t execute the win.

Head Coach Jussai Ahokas said they aren’t counting themselves out just yet.

“It’s been done before … why think too much ahead, just go. We’re ready to play seven games in every series … we are still going, we just made it a bit harder for ourselves.”

Paul Fixter, 570’s Colour Commentator, noted Kitchener did finally get some fire back on their powerplay.

Going into Tuesday night’s game, the Rangers were 0-10 on the powerplay. Tuesday night, three of their four goals were scored during a London penalty.

“They know full well, they are going to get opportunities because London is the most penalized team in the league in the regular season, so they have to capitalize in those opportunities they get, and they are going to be getting more in Game 4.”

The Rangers look to avoid elimination at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium Thursday night.
