Guelph police investigating interaction between two kids, driver of white van

Guelph police are investigating after two kids said someone driving a white van tried to get them to approach the vehicle.

The interaction happened last Wednesday morning around 8:30 a.m. as the children, aged 10 and 12, were on their way to school near Fife Road and Elmira Road.

The driver of a white panel-style van reportedly stopped their vehicle, made eye contact with the kids, and gestured with his hand for them to come closer.

The children ran to school and told staff, and their parents were notified. Police were then alerted on Friday.

The driver of the van is described as a white man and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.

The alleged incident happened a day after an 11-year-old girl in Guelph said a man followed her after school in the Brant Avenue and Victoria Road area. She also ran away and was unharmed.
