The losing streak extended to five for the Kitchener Rangers after losing 4-0 against the London Knights on Tuesday night.
London opened the scoring with a power play goal from Oliver Bonk at 6:11 in the first period.
It would be a one goal game until near the end of the second period when Denver Barkey scored to make it 2-0. London would score two more times, from Jacob Julien and Landon Sim, in the third.
Tuesday’s game marks the first time this season the Rangers have been shut out.
Over the last five games, Kitchener has scored only nine times.
CityNews 570’s Colour Commentator Paul Fixter said the power play has struggled over the five game losing steak, after going 0-3 in Tuesday’s game.
“They didn’t generate much tonight,” said Fixter after the game. “London did a really good job of making them ineffective.”
Fixter added that multiple players will be coming back into the lineup.
Filip Mesár returned for Tuesday’s game following an injury and Matt Andonovski is set to return on Friday following a three game suspension.
“Those bodies that we haven’t seen in a few games are starting to come back, and when they come back so do the wins,” said Fixter.
The Rangers currently sit in fourth in the Western Conference and second in the Midwest Division.
The Rangers will look to end the losing streak when another division rival, the Guelph Storm, comes to town on Friday.
