THEMUSEUM hosts first ever Christkinderfest

By CityNews Kitchener Staff

The brand new Christkinderfest is taking over THEMUSEUM in Downtown Kitchener Saturday morning.

The event, organized by KW Oktoberfest allows children and families to experience the joys of a German inspired Christmas.

Oktoberfest’s Executive Director Tracy Van Kalsbeek, said there will be plenty of Bavarian themed activities.

“We’ve got traditional accordion music, the childern dancers from the Schwaben Club and some really cool crafts that are geared towards German traditions like the old Tanenbaum.”

The Oktoberfest Ambassador will also be doing a story time for the kids.

Christkinderfest runs from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. and is free to the public, but registration is required.

Free parking can be found Downtown at any municipal surface parking lots.
