Driver tries to pick up girl waiting for bus in Kitchener, police investigating

It’s another reminder to talk to your kids about being wary of strangers after a driver tried to pick up a young female in Kitchener.

Police said the youth was waiting for a bus when the driver of a Tesla stopped and offered her a ride to school.

The girl declined the offer and the vehicle took off. She wasn’t hurt.

This happened around 8:45 a.m. on Nov. 29 in the Karn Street and Brybeck Crescent area.

Police released a photo of the involved vehicle, which is described as a black four-door Tesla.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service’s special investigations unit is investigating the incident.
