Grand River Hospital investigating payment disturbance

Grand River Hospital (GRH) in Kitchener is investigating an issue with its payroll processing.

Staff at GRH did not receive their payments on time on Friday.

The hospital said on social media that it was an organization-wide disruption that caused their payroll to process incorrectly on Thursday night.

GRH apologized to all of its workers for the inconvenience.

As of noon on Friday, major bank payroll deposits have been processed.

In a statement, GRH’s CEO Paul McIntyre Royston said, “Next we will turn our attention to understanding the cause and implementing measures to prevent a similar occurrence in the future.”

The issue was expected to be fully resolved by Friday afternoon.
