The auto parts manufacturer on Franklin Boulevard is amping up production of battery cooling plates, which are used for electric vehicles.
Antonio Valencia, Dana President of Power Technologies and Global Electrification notes, “Dana’s thermal-management expertise has been led from our Technology Centre in Ontario since the 1950s, so it is exciting to witness the continued growth of this important technology in the province.”
They made the $60 million announcement at their plant Thursday, alongside Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, Vic Fedeli.
Fedeli says the province will be helping with $2.5 million of the $60 Million investment.
‘We know that part of the modernization of the auto sector in Ontario is making sure that you’re ready to make parts for electric vehicles, and that is exactly what they are doing here at Dana, with the battery cooling plate.”
Fedeli adds investments in electric vehicle production is soaring across Ontario and the country, and this move makes Cambridge a central manufacturing hub for the international company.
