Rangers hold first place position with 4-2 win against the Knights

By CityNews Kitchener staff

The Kitchener Rangers are still in the top spot after a 4-2 win against the London Knights Sunday.

CityNews Kitchener’s Colour Commentator Paul Fixter says it was a statement game for the East Avenue Blue, proving they are team to be reckoned with.

“They are playing a team with eight NHL prospects on it, they come into their building and beat them, and beat them, fairly soundly. A 4-2 game is close, but the Rangers took control of the game.”

He notes the Rangers showed a significant amount of discipline throughout the entire match.

“London was taking a pound of flesh whenever they could, hacking, wacking, slashing, after the whistles, trying to instigate Kitchener into taking dumb penalties, as the coach said, and they didn’t. They held their discipline, were smart and then they made them pay on the powerplay.”

Next up for the Blueshirts, a team that has given them some trouble this year, even though they are last in the Midwest Division, the Owen Sound Attack.

The last time they faced-off against the Attack, the Rangers lost 5-3.

Broadcast time on Wednesday evening is 6:35 on CityNews Kitchener with the pre-game show with Paul Fixter and Mike Farwell.
