Police investigate collision involving Garda truck in Waterloo

Waterloo Regional Police continue to investigate following a collision on Wednesday that brought heavy delays to the Bridgeport Road East area of Waterloo.

According to the service, that collision involved three vehicles on Bridgeport near Regina Street North, squeezing existing one-way traffic down to one lane.

Photos from the scene showed an armored vehicle with notable front end damage.

Regional police have since confirmed that crash involved three vehicles – one of which was a Garda truck.

The other involved vehicles were identified as a Honda Pilot and a transport truck.

Providing an update just before the noon hour, a police spokesperson said all involved vehicles have been removed from Bridgeport Road East.

One driver was transported to local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

There are no further concerns for traffic through that area.
