Local U22 women’s elite hockey team set to unveil their rebranding at home opener

By CityNews Staff

Sunday is an exciting day for the Waterloo Ravens U22 elite team.

The program will unveil their new name and colours at 2 p.m. when the Ravens host the Mississauga Hurricanes for their home opener at RIM Park.

Head Coach Chad Campbell told CityNews some of the changes that the team has undergone.

“The biggest thing is that we re-branded,” said Campbell. “We used to be the K-W Rangers. We’ve always been under the Waterloo association, so we’ve re-branded and brought in the Ravens colours, which is white, yellow and black and got new jerseys.”

Campbell added that there are high expectations for the team this season.

The roster includes the likes of Caitlin Kraemer, who scored 10 goals for Canada this year at the U18 Women’s World Hockey Championship.
