It’s that time of the year.

The excitement is in the air.

A time that brings people and friends together to celebrate longstanding traditions, while enjoying the best of what the region has to offer.

With another fall season just around the corner, it’s time to celebrate with the annual Kitchener-Waterloo (K-W) Oktoberfest, which kicks off on Friday, Sept. 22 and runs until Saturday, Oct 14.

There’s a slew of events and activities for visitors and local residents to enjoy.

Canada’s Greatest Bavarian Festival Downtown Kitchener will Be Bavarian on Thanksgiving weekend as the Willkommen Platz returns from Thursday, October 5 to Sunday, October 8. Canadian country music staple The Road Hammers will headline the Oktoberfest Block Party on Thursday night, in support of Oktoberfest Cares.

The KoolHaus at Bingemans is back with an extended three weekends in 2023, with feature acts including Mariana’s Trench, David Wilcox, The Trews, Finger Eleven and German sensation Dorfrocker.

There’s the Official Keg Tapping on Oct. 6, KIDtoberfest, which runs from Oct. 6 to Oct. 8 at THEMUSEUM in downtown Kitchener and of course, the annual Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest Thanksgiving Day Parade with even more new floats, inflatables and bands.

Through the Oktoberfest Cares initiative, the festival supports local charities and other not-for-profit organizations, partners with over 50 local hospitality businesses, and raises funds to donate meals to the Waterloo Region Food Bank through the Onkel Hans Food Drive.
