Towne Bowl closing after 64 years

It’s the end of an era for bowlers in Kitchener.

Towne Bowl has announced that it is getting ready to close its doors.

The 24-lane, five-pin bowling alley has been operating for 64 years on Ottawa Street near King Street, just down the road from The Aud.

“We have made lifelong friendships over the years, and will miss seeing everyone on the daily,” wrote the owners of Towne Bowl in a post on social media. “Thank you for your dedication to not only us, but the sport of 5-pin bowling.”

The bowling alley will remain open to the public until it officially closes.

No firm date has been announced but Towne Bowl said it will be posted online in the near future.
