Police searching for machete-wielding suspect

A weapons incident in Kitchener has police searching for a suspect.
Officers were called to the Highland Road and Belmont Avenue area of Kitchener around 1:15 a.m. on Aug. 1 due to reports of a man wielding a machete.
It’s alleged the male suspect threatened multiple people but took off when he realized police were being called.
No one was hurt and the male was last seen heading toward Victoria Street South.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Waterloo Regional Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
