Perth County OPP looking for man involved in attempted abduction

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are on the lookout for a man who allegedly tried to abduct a youth, on a country road just east of Listowel.

Perth OPP say it happened near Line 86, about halfway between Listowel and Dorking, where the youth was out for a bike ride.

Police say a man, standing outside his vehicle, flagged down the youth, and started asking a lot of questions.

They say the man then made inappropriate comments, and grabbed the youth.

The youth struggled and was able to get away.

Police say the suspect left in a turquoise car, possibly a hatchback, last seen heading north on Perth Road 131. The driver’s side rims on the car are rusted.

The suspect is described as white, in his 30s or 40s, about 5′ 6″ tall, with a heavier build, and short to medium dark hair and a bit of facial hair stubble.

He spoke with a slight accent.

At the time of the incident he was wearing a white, button up short sleeve shirt with a black vest.

Anyone who knows anything about what happened is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122, or get in touch anonymous with Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or by clicking here.
