Tiny Home Takeout expands presence in Kitchener through summer pilot project

Tiny Home Takeout is now serving up more meals to those in need by expanding its presence in Kitchener for the summer.

The pilot project has two satellite locations operating outside of St. Francis Church on Blueridge Avenue every Tuesday and Thursday, and outside Holy Trinity Church on Wilson Avenue every Wednesday and Friday.

The hours for each location are 7:15 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The original Tiny Home Takeout is also still available at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Duke Street, Tuesdays to Saturdays from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The community outreach program is run by volunteers and the goal is to ensure quality food is accessible for everyone, including those who are struggling.

It operates on a ‘give if you can’ model — meaning it’s free for those who can’t afford it.

The 3rd annual fundraising event Waterloo Region Hunger No More has been scheduled for September 10. All the proceeds support the Tiny Home Takeout initiative.

Donations can also be made online.
